-Synopsis-

"And though she be but little, she is fierce." - William Shakespeare

Candace, a college senior, has spent the last four years at the University of Washington working on her lifelong dream of becoming a ballerina. Her friends tell her she needs to get out and live life

"You take life too seriously, you know? You need to let loose and have some          fun. You're never going to get this back Candace. Just enjoy it. Be young and carefree."

This is when things go horribly wrong...

She experiences a girls worst nightmare, she is raped and sexually abused. The pain and suffering she goes through is so heartbreaking. She struggles to get over and forget what happened to her that awful night.

"I lie against his chest and just cry. I cry like a baby-helpless.  I'm so desperate for someone to save me. To make it all go away."

Ryan Campbell is a successful bar/club owner who is sweet ,caring, patient,...HOT, and everything Candace needs. With his own ugly past and issues, his pull to Candace is something he has never experienced before, he is sooo patient and supportive of her. He helps Candace come out of herself more and they fall deeply in love, she trusts him, depends on him and gives herself to him in a way she has never done with anyone else before, but when a secret is revealed it leaves Candace completely shattered.

"Pain is a reminder you're still alive."

This book is very sad and frustrating at times, but it captivates you. It moves slow and steady...it allows you to fall in love with the characters and feel their pain. This is the first of 3 books, BUT NO CLIFFHANGER!...book 2 is Ryan's story and I can't wait to read it! I WANT MORE of Ryan and Candace...I want to see their HEA!
